TX Accountants and Services (TXAS) is a Melbourne accounting firm in Burwood East whose accountants work in English and Mandarin (普通话). We prepare tax returns, BAS, bookkeeping, company and trust tax for Chinese-speaking individuals, families and business owners. The first 30-minute consultation is free.
Tax is hard enough in your first language. Many of our clients are comfortable in English for everyday life but would rather discuss residency, foreign income, property or company structures in Mandarin, where nothing gets lost. That is how TXAS has worked since it started: clear explanations in the language you prefer, with every return lodged through our registered tax agent practice.
What we do
Employees, investors and sole traders, lodged through our tax agent program so you get the later deadline.
Quarterly or monthly GST, PAYG withholding and instalments.
Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks, reconciled every month, STP included.
Year-end accounts, tax returns, Division 7A and trust distributions.
Questions Chinese-speaking clients often bring us
Overseas income, assets and residency
Many Chinese-speaking clients still have income, bank accounts or property in China or elsewhere. Your tax residency decides what has to be declared in Australia, foreign tax already paid may be offset, and overseas accounts can be reported to the ATO under the CRS. We explain the rules in Mandarin and get the return right.

Property in Melbourne
Buying, renting out and selling property raises questions about stamp duty, rental deductions, depreciation, the main residence exemption and capital gains tax, and foreign purchaser surcharges if you are not a permanent resident. We work through the numbers before you buy or sell.

Starting and running a business
ABN or company, GST registration, BAS, payroll and paying yourself from a company without breaching Division 7A. We set up the structure with you in plain Mandarin, then keep the books and lodgements running.

Family trusts and SMSFs
Family trusts need distribution resolutions by 30 June, and self-managed super funds need annual accounts and an independent audit. We prepare both and explain each step so you know what you are signing.
